The mission of Best Friends is to end the killing in America's animal shelters and create a time when there are No More Homeless Pets. We do this by building community programs and partnerships all across the nation.
COVID-19 is a global pandemic and our healthcare workers are our first line of defense.
Personal Protective Equipment (often called “PPE”) is the suit of armor that healthcare workers wear into the fight -- the respirators, gloves, face shields, and gowns. Nationwide, there is a critical shortage of PPE. Manufacturers are urgently ramping up PPE production to meet global demand, but until then, every hour counts, along with every mask and every glove. As this crisis escalates, supplies save lives.
To bridge this gap, passionate grassroots teams sprung up across America to donate critical relief supplies to healthcare workers in need. #GetUsPPE is a coalition founded by emergency room physicians and built by volunteers to join these groups in a single, unified effort. Together we are stronger and more efficient than we were alone and we’re putting critical PPE in the hands of our healthcare heroes, right now.
Share #GetUsPPE, and visit www.GetUsPPE.org today to find out how you can take action.
For nearly 45 years, the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) has worked to lift children out of poverty, protect them from abuse and neglect and ensure their access to health care, and a high-quality education. The Children’s Defense Fund serves as a catalyst for community outreach programs and champions policies that focus on the needs of the whole child. We believe that every child must have a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start, and a Moral Start in life and safe passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities. As the leading voice for all children in America, the Children’s Defense Fund pays particular attention to the needs of poor children, children of color and those with disabilities. A donation to the Children’s Defense Fund is a unique way to honor the memory of a loved one who has made a substantial impact in your life. When you make a memorial gift to the Children’s Defense Fund, not only are you commemorating the life of someone special, you are saying that every child counts; every child matters.

OUR MISSION IS TO BRING HOPE AND HEALING TO COMBAT VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH POST TRAUMATIC STRESS
1. Bring healing to our military community (Active duty, Reserves and National Guard, veterans, and their families) through pastoral counseling, and peer mentoring, both on an individual basis, and in group settings.
2. Raise awareness of the increasing needs of the military community through public events, media outlets, social media, service organizations, and churches.
3. Networking government agencies, service organizations, churches and private sector businesses into a united “Corps of Compassion”, to bring their combined resources together to meet the needs of the military community on a personal and individual/family level.
Our brave men and women in uniform understand duty, honor, and sacrifice. Many have returned home with both the visible scars, and the unseen wounds of war.

Each year, the Arbor Day Foundation plants millions of trees across the globe to help clean our drinking water, filter the air, slow climate change, and protect critical wildlife habitats. The need for trees in our forests is greater than ever before. Wildfires, disease, and deforestation have destroyed millions of acres of trees, and your donation will help bring these forests back to life.
We believe there is simple human justice in the chance to build a life. When we find people displaced from their homes, countries or lives, our instinct may be to focus on their basic needs. And we do – we provide health care, clean water, shelter, protection and economic opportunities to more than 3.5 million people each year. But that is living – it’s not a life. So, we also work closely with refugees, trafficked persons and migrants to co-design solutions that help them build full and fulfilling lives – lives alight with joy, dignity, connection and purpose.
