Dwight's obituary
Mr. Odom was born and raised in Treutlen County and was a 1950 graduate of Soperton High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Lillie Gillis Odom, stepmother, Mary Thompson Odom, and brothers, J.E. Odom, Ward Odom and Felix Odom.
He was retired after twenty-four years of service with the US Armed Forces, having served both in the US Marines and Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he was awarded two Purple Hearts. He was also retired from Civil Service in Palm Beach Gardens FL.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanny Odom; children Mitch (No-Ae) Odom of Warner Robins, Phil (April) Odom of Kennesaw, Sharla Odom of Milton, and Sung Ho (Josephine) Chung of Suwanee; grandchildren, Derek Odom, Lania Odom, Channing Brown, Madisyn Brown, Connell Chung, Kyle Chung, Keith Chung, Daniel Yoon, and Joseph Yoon; sisters, Eloise (Pete) Pronko of Maynard, MA, Anne B. Hutcheson of Evans, Gail (Freddie) Willis and Lillie Powell, all of Soperton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, with the Pastor Enoch Yu officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Soperton, with military honors.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
