Our last visit 💜 I met Dwight…
Our last visit 💜 I met Dwight when we lived next door to each other and I was 4. I used to sit under his window and listen to him play his trumpet. We moved when I was almost 10. Thankfully his family and mine stayed close. Dwight was my friend, but he was also family. The last time we were able to catch up, he came to Utah. We talked nonstop from the time he arrived, way into the wee hours of the morning. I’m so grateful for that visit. Love you Dwight 💔
So Long kind friend.  Dwight first book signing at Amigos was was such a great time. Meeting up after 40 years with his family of friends from school, lots of fun. Dwight telling stories with each slide about Foster Kinns adventure. Dwight was truly in his element.

Dwight was a trumpet player in a band that played weddings, anniversaries, Quincianeras, and that kind of thing.  They played songs that were popular at the time. Lots of Earth, Wind and Fire, Commdore's, Stevie Wonder,  Boogie Nights type disco dancing music really. They played this one song that cracked me up because they'd changed the words for the screaming trumpet player. Instead of PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC WHITE BOY (which could have easily applied, as is, being that he was their only one) it was changed (and they really emphasized it) PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC "DWIGHT" BOY and of course he had a solo in the song where he made that bad boy scream. They were quite good! He was a very talented trumpet player back in the day! A real screamer! He practiced a lot and it paid off!
