I cannot believe it has been a year since Harry passed. I find I still reflexively go to call him when I have outrageous news. I miss his jokes and wisdom and friendship! He was such a good and kind person. To Harry’s family, you remain in my prayers for peace and happy memories of your dad.

Harry was so generous with his time and talent -- over the last 16 years, we collaborated on research projects that led to several publications. More importantly, Harry was a great friend - his joke of the day always made me smile, laugh, or groan depending on Harry's objective for that particular day. We talked about science, health, COVID, retirement, investments, chemistry, storm chasers, his time as a scientist in the private sector, his early life and family. It was quite a shock to my day when he retired from QU and our daily interactions were reduced to once or twice a week by phone. Sadly, it does not compare to how I now miss those phone calls - and my dear friend Harry!

On his last day at CAES we planned some practical jokes as parting memories. We put black powder on the ear piece of his phone and cream cheese under his car door handle. He loved a practical joke!

I was so sorry to hear about Harry's passing. He was such an inquisitive and insightful person. I loved chatting with him. I also worked with him as related to Sigma Xi and his passion for science and for inspiring the next generations was palpable. I watched him engage students and encourage them to think critically, work on projects, and become the next leaders and teachers in science. He will be missed! As a colleague I am happy to have know him for many years,

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Harry at the CAES for almost 10 years. He was always a fun loving person and quick with a practical joke.
