Dr. Blas E. Prieto went home to Jesus on March 3rd, 2022 at age 91. Blas was born to on February 22, 1931 in Cienfuegos, Cuba. As a child, Blas was a gifted student while also having a passion for the game of baseball. Blas met his wife, Mirtha, in Cienfuegos while he was completing medical school at the University of Havana. They married in 1961 and were able to leave Cuba in 1963. After settling in Philadelphia, they went on to have two children, Vivian and Blas. For nearly five decades, Dr. Prieto was a caring doctor at family practices around the country. In addition to being a loving father and a dedicated doctor, Blas also loved serving in his church and lighting up a room with his stories. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he unapologetically shared with those who surrounded him. Blas joins Gregorio, Caridad, Evelio, Luis, Teresita, and Maria in Heaven. He is survived by his wife, Mirtha, his children, Blas and Vivian, and his grandchildren, Blas, Freddy, Blake, Josh, David, Lexie, Kaleigh, and Christian.

A visitation for Blas will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 11:59 PM at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8TH ST, MIAMI, FL 33135. A burial will occur Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Graceland Memorial Park North, 4420 SW 8th St., Miami, Florida 33134.
