Dover's obituary

Jeffrey “Dover” Miller, 66, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025. He was born on August 30, 1958, in Dover, Ohio, where he spent his childhood and early years.

A man of simple joys and generous spirit, Dover dedicated his career to construction, excavating, and electrical work, proudly owning Dover Excavating for many years. He had an unmatched talent for fixing just about anything around the house and was the go-to person for friends and family in need of a helping hand.

Dover was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who believed the greatest accomplishments in life were the love and memories shared with family. He was a passionate Ohio State Buckeyes fan and loved talking football whenever he had the chance.

Though a man of few words, when Dover spoke, it was often to share a piece of hard-earned wisdom or a perfectly timed joke to make others laugh. He was known among his children’s friends as the “life of the party”a title that always brought a smile and a wink, knowing it was their little inside joke.

He is survived by his parents, Wanda and Dave Wells; his wife, Tina; his children, Ashley (Devon) McCormick, Anina (RJ) DeVito, and Jeffrey; his grandchildren, Cooper and Oliver McCormick; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Julie.

Dover leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and an unwavering commitment to family and fun. He would want to be remembered as a man who loved deeply, helped selflessly, and believed that life was best enjoyed surrounded by those you love and preferably while cheering on the Buckeyes.

A celebration of Dover’s life will be held at The Goat New Albany at 7148 Town Market Ln E, New Albany, OH 43054 on Thursday, July 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Those attending are invited to wear their Ohio State Buckeye shirts in his honor, a tribute that would surely make him smile.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center at 4340 Tamarack Blvd, Columbus, OH 43229.
