Douglas's obituary
Douglas Charles Stuart passed away on October 22, 2025, in Culver City, CA. His sudden passing has been felt deeply by the many people who loved him. Doug’s sense of fun, adventure, and boundless enthusiasm inspired everyone around him. You couldn’t help but have a good time in his presence—even if you had only just met him in line at the store. He made friends effortlessly, but the great loves of his life were his wife, Sandra, and his pride and joy: his three sons, Spencer, Ian, and Riley.
When his boys were young, Doug opened Stuart’s Deli in Silverdale, WA. With his entrepreneurial spirit and signature creativity, he launched bicycle delivery for his food—an idea that quickly took off. Doug was in his element, doing what he loved while building community along the way.
Doug was born in Rochester, NH, and moved to Washington State in 1976 with his father, Milledge Stuart; mother, Jean Stuart; brother, James Stuart; and sister, Tracy Heay. He lived in Bremerton, WA, until 2021, when he and Sandra moved to Culver City, CA. He embraced California living and fell in love with the energy and vibrancy of his new community. In 2023, Doug was even selected to appear on The Price Is Right, where he won prizes, cash, and a new car. Friends and family cheered him on, texting everyone they knew about how brilliantly he performed. He absolutely rocked it.
Doug lived a life full of joy, generosity, and unforgettable moments. His laughter, his warmth, and his fearless sense of adventure will continue to echo in the lives of all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing and a reminder to live life with the same spirit and heart that he brought into the world every day.
