Douglas “Doug” Kent Maclear, 75, passed away on May 9, 2021. His surviving family includes his wife, Judi Dursi, a sister, Maryann Preach and her husband, Tim Preach, sons, Michael and Matthew Maclear, their spouses, Licia and Amy Maclear, and five grandchildren, Mason, Ella, Charlotte, Griffin and Kenley Maclear. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Jack and Charlotte Maclear.

Doug was born and raised in Denver Colorado. He attended Johns Hopkin’s university and the University of Southern California. Doug spent his career working as a high school English teacher, athletic director and administrator for 45 years. He spent his early career at Monte Vista High School, La Puente High School, Los Altos High School, Diamond Bar High School, Fontana High School, Dana Hills High School and Dana Point High School. He was last employed by the Anaheim Union High School district, where he served for 11 years as an assistant Principal at Cypress High School and Anaheim High School. He retired in 2013.

Doug had a passion for working with high school-aged students. He also enjoyed traveling, photography, theatre, cooking and spending time with his beloved dogs.
