Douglas's obituary

Douglas “Dougie” Francis Lowell, Jr. was welcomed into the world by his parents Douglas and Lillian Lowell on September 5, 1950 at Jordan Clinic in Fairhope, Al.

Sadly Doug fell asleep in death on September 5, 2021 at Thomas Hospital at the age of 71.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Douglas Francis Lowell Sr, and Lillian Helen Robinson Lowell, his brothers Carrol, Wayne and Dennis Lowell, and his wife Linda Jo Manci Lowell.

Doug is survived by his wife Stephanie Lowell of Fairhope; his daughter, Tracey (Kirk) Hanberg of Fairhope; son, Coleman Lowell of Daphne; two brothers Micheal (Terry) Lowell and Donnie (Nancy) Lowell of Fairhope; one sister Linda (Joseph) Turner; grandchildren, Sofia (Trenton) Stewart, Sadie Hanberg, Karmyn, Kameron, Kinsley, and MJ Lowell; two stepsons, Chad and Wes; step daughter, Olivia; along with 5 nieces, 4 nephews, cousins and many friends.

On September 25, 1970 at the age of 20 Doug married Linda Jo Manci of Daphne, Al. They were married for 34 years and had two children.

After six years of being a widower Doug developed a relationship with Stephanie Windham and they were married on May 22, 2010.

His love for God was evident in his love for farming. His spirituality grew throughout his life. On July 16th, 1988 he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses as a symbol of his dedication to God. He regularly took time to share his hopes and beliefs with others.

Doug’s life revolved around his faith, his family and his farm. He enjoyed traveling to many places around the world with his family and lifelong friends. He truly appreciated his heritage of being a part of a close knit farming community that stretches back for generations.

Doug will be fondly remembered for having a kind spirit, being very generous to all, a champion of fairness and his overall love of life. He will be sadly missed by all!
