You never forget the kids  from the  neighborhood you grew up with. Doug was the cool kid in the neighborhood, he was so chill. He would jump motorcycle dirt bikes higher than I'd ever seen before. He built race cars in his garage, then he'd go race at Bandimere  Speedway! He was a good guy! And he was always, always smiling! The Danko Brothers are legendary!

We had a long layover at DIA …
2016
We had a long layover at DIA and Doug came to see us.
I was deeply saddened to hear about Doug's passing. He was such a remarkable person—funny, kind, generous, and incredibly hardworking. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and his presence will be missed by so many. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. Doug's legacy of warmth and humor will live on in all the lives he touched.

I didn't have the opportunity to spend much time with Doug, but that didn't matter. He made everyone he knew feel like lifelong friends. Because of that, the world is a better place because he was in it. My heartfelt love goes out to all of the Dankos. I pray for peace and comfort for you all.

There is nothing more solid than family, and the Danko’s were just that!  Many good memories when the Denver Danko’s would travel to La Junta and vice versa.  Even as a child Doug was one happy guy always smiling.  All who knew Doug will always remember his smile, his giggle, the hand shake that sealed his friendship and how fast he talked!  lol

Missing You Doug - Never to be forgotten!

Love cousin Karen & Terry Menges

Sending hugs and much love to all of you at this difficult time. Doug will be greatly missed. Always  remembered with a positive attitude and a smile on his face. Our deepest sympathy, Marty, Beth Spalding Laverenz and family❤️
With our Deepest Sympathy.  Doug will be forever in our hearts. ❤
My heart goes out to the Danko family. We grew up in the 70s in Montbello, and had lots of memories throughout the years. I know Doug brought you guys lots of joy over the years. One thing I can say is that the family was talented. No matter what the boys put their minds to, they succeeded.  I'm so happy I shared a great friendship with Paul, went to school with Darren, Paul, and Renee, and my sister and brother went to TJ with Doug and Dave. Doug, say hi to all our other family members who have gone on to be with Our Lord and Savior. I am sure your siblings, kids, and grandson will take it from here. R.I.H. Doug
You always had away to make your friends feel like one of the family. You will be missed by many. May you rest in piece and don't forget to leave the porch light on.

My deepest condolences to the family.  I
