I did not know Doug long but I had the pleasure of taking care of him in dialysis and at the transplant center.  I was blessed to have taken care of him.  My prayers to his family.

Very sad news...

I am so blessed to be working with Doug… my condolences to his family…

I had the privilege of working with Doug for several years.  I learned so much from him.  I saw him under intense pressure in several critical situations on the job and he always was a professional through and through, he was so level headed and direct.  I learned to respect that direct approach he had and he had my back more than once during the course of our time together.  I have great esteem for him and wish to offer his family my sincere condolences.  RIP Doug you will be missed.
I will greatly miss Doug, I met Doug a month or so after Kris started dating him, we had them over for dinner. I adored him from the very first time I met him, a very loving, hard working man. I loved seeing Kris and him together. As his Mother-in-law, I have lots of fun memories of family times together. He will leave a big whole in my heart.  Bob and I will keep the family in our prayers.

My condolences to Doug's family. I first met Doug at Cricket and we kept in touch over the years. Such a loss…Doug was an outstanding person and friend!
what a loss. Did not see him often at the mountain, but he was a part of our mountain family. Much love to Tom , Kris and the rest of Doug’s family. Cindy and Ric Rivers
Doug is often in my reminiscence of productive, exciting and enjoyable times. My prayers and condolences to the Bird family.

This is heartbreaking news.

I was fortunate to have worked with Doug and it was always a great joy discussing things... anything, with him.   He was just the sort of person I always felt comfortable around.

My condolences to the family and those closest to Doug.  We will all miss his comforting and cherished presence.

I am so sorry for your loss. Doug was a wonderful person who touched the lives of many, including mine. He was kind, compassionate, always willing to help others, and, most important, always enthusiastic about life.

Losing a loved one is never easy, and I can only imagine the pain and grief you are experiencing. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I hope you find comfort in the memories and legacy Doug has left behind. He will always be with you in your hearts and will never be forgotten.

Sending you love and condolences.

Sincerely,

Joel Zamboni

Very sad to hear that. Doug was a very important figure in my career. Exemplary executive and a great friend! Good memories and laughter will remain. My condolences to all the family and friends! RIP Doug!
My deepest condolences to the Bird Family.  Doug was a deer friend and I'm so saddened to learn of his passing.  I still remember us sneaking out at night, pushing his family's car out of the driveway so his folks wouldn't it start, and going joy riding (sorry Tom!!!) in the middle of the night!  Loved the rides in his Trans Am and "outsmarting" the police!  So much fun out the shop!   Always was there for me as a friend!!!!!  May God rest his soul and comfort the family.  Miss you!!!

Doug was a key person in the beginning of my sales technology career in Brazil. He was fair, open, respectful and gave me the opportunity to work with his team in a very successful key project. I learned a lot with him and his team. Many years later, I met him when I moved to the US and he gave me some great advice.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to his family.

We are going to miss a great guy, friendly and generous. I shared with Doug quite a lot of working time in Latin America, a guy open to understanding the different cultures of the countries in which we had to work, open to listening and even innocent in the way of being surprised by local issues, from the strange and late hours of dinners in Argentina, that talking about “Futebol” in Brazil was like talking about religion, the formality of the treatment in Peru, the risky way of driving a car in Chile, even the long wait that could be "Ahorita" in Mexico.

A Big boy expecting to be surprised by a new experience of behavior on each society.

He dedicated many hours to our countless talks that we have shared until generating a relationship of mutual trust.

Loyal with their work teams, fierce with non-compliant suppliers

I still remember Doug's friendly welcome of my son Simon and me at his house, and I want to thank you, Kris, for allowing us to share dinner with your family.

Te vamos a extrañar

Enrique

Doug was instrumental to our business growth in Latin America and his trust in us made the difference with Nextel Brasil. A professional who wanted the best for his company and willing to put his personal brand on the line.
My dear friend Shayla, I'm so very sorry for the loss of your dad. I will always remember how he opened his house to us youth from Calvary Baptist in Idaho Falls and let us visit you. I'm praying God will bring you peace and comfort as you navigate forward. Please know you are all very loved.

We are so sad to know that Doug is no longer with us. He was a great neighbor. One who was always there to help out, teach or lend a tool..... and Lord knows he loved his toys (he had the best stuff)! When you spoke to Doug, he would look you directly in the eye and listen to you as if you were the only person on earth.  He had a sincere heart and was a kind man that treated our sons as his own. He made camping, boating and get togethers special, and was a great host.  He loved his family so much. We will always remember his infectious laugh and car side chats (especially when you had to look all the way up at him in his big truck).  Until we see you again, Brother.

Love

Our hearts are broken for you all. Our family is so lucky to have had you as neighbors and friends over many years. We enjoyed the long chats across the fence on warm summer days, games and laughter around the table and sharing various special events. We were so hopeful that he was going to make it through this ordeal. Doug was a special person with a big heart. The sadness is overwhelming. He will truly, truly be missed. ❤️
Thank you!!!! All I can say is thank you! Doug helped me tremendously while in college and the whole Bird family let me in, literally. Not knowing me at all. I love each of you and I am so sorry this happened this way. You each hold a special place in my heart. Again thank you all for everything. ❤️
I met Doug only once. And it was Monday. And when I said goodbye to him he clasped my hand and looked me in the eye to say thank you. I can’t imagine the strength needed to get through all he endured, but it was so evident his strength came from his love for his family. I’m honored to have met him. Heartbroken for all who have had to say goodbye.

I feel terrible for your loss, I had hopped Doug would recover and get back to being the awesome friend and human being I got to meet. I hope that the very many great and loving memories with him help ease the pain of his passing for You, Shayla,  Mckenna and the extended family . My deepest condolences to you all.

Sincerely,

Antonio Escobedo!

Sincerest sympathies on the passing of Doug.  He was a genuinely good person.
