Doug's obituary
Douglas Jude Dussman (45) passed away on August 9, 2023 from a tragic anaphylactic reaction to bee stings while working in the yard. Even though the tiniest of creatures took him away from this world, memories of his BIG, loving, and funny personality will forever be with us.
Doug is survived by his children Douglas (15) and Lillian (11) Barouski and daughters Emma Weeks and Arianna Gonzalez and grandchildren Meilanni (5), Noemi (1) and AJ (19 days). He leaves behind his mother Judith Dussman, brothers John (Jill Esenwein) and Luke Dussman (Kelly, nephew Tommy (10) and niece Evie Dussman (8)), and sister, Katherine Schoon (Patrick, niece Josephine (8) nephews Raymond (6) and Graeme (2)). He is predeceased by his grandparents: Dr. Thomas Raymond Dussman, and Dorothy Dussman, J.D.
Doug also leaves behind his “second” family, employees and members of Butler National Golf Course where he worked for 33 years. Doug was most happy on the golf course, whether at Butler, Oakbrook or Lockport the “Augusta of the Midwest.” He also enjoyed spending time at Table 1, telling long-winded stories and laughing with friends. Doug treasured doing activities with his kids and Lara, cooking culinary creations for his mom, and beating his brothers at golf. Doug was fiercely protective of his sister and an avid animal lover.
Memorial Services including a Celebration of Life will be announced soon. Contributions to the Doug Dussman Memorial Fund are being requested in lieu of Flowers.
