Beth,

De and I were checking a glaze recipe that Doug provided us, and we discovered Doug’s obituary.  We were shocked and saddened.  I think of Doug often, when firing the kiln that Doug helped me learn, and when mixing up glazes that he sent me.    He was one of the few folks that shared everything, and he will be missed in this world.  Sincerely, Derek and De (d2 pottery)

May the soul of Doug Brown rest in quiet repose with the souls of his loved ones and ancestors who went on before him; may Light Perpetual shine; may his family and friends be comforted during this difficult time and in the days ahead by friends and strangers alike. Amen
I was so saddened to learn of Doug's passing. I first met him in 1956 when I was in kindergarten in Arcata, CA with his younger sister, Cyndi. He was movie star good-looking and always so delightful and kind. A man of many talents, how wonderful he found and followed his passions in art, in creating Potters Brown and starting the Edom Art Festival. He and his wife Beth made an impressive team. My family and I send heartfelt condolences to Beth; to Doug's brother
Kent and his wife Audrey, their daughters and grandchildren; and of course to my still-special friend, Cyndi Brown Forsyth, and her children and grandchildren. A life well lived, Doug Brown.
