Once, when I was sick, I was playing with modeling clay in bed, and rolled some of the clay to look like carrots. Mom said she would take the play carrots into the kitchen and cook them. For lunch, she brought my meal with cooked carrots that I had rolled from clay. What a treat! I knew they were not clay carrots I ate but I still loved the meal. Curt Locklear

A holiday in Redmond-Christmas or Thanksgiving maybe?
I lived with my Grandma Dorothy for a couple of years, my freshman year of college from 2003 to 2004, and my first year after graduation, 2008 to 2009. It's hard to put into words the huge effect that my grandmother has had on my life. I have such an appreciation for the small things from her… like tea time with people you love, long conversations over a homemade dinner, reading together in the evenings. I always loved going back home after work, and picking fresh cherry tomatoes right off the vine in front of her house and eating them on the way in. I loved her tea lemonade. I always felt unconditional love and support from her. So much more to say, but, you are so missed Grandma, and your presence is felt every day. Thank you for your love and support, you have made such a difference in my life, and I will strive to love and support others in the same way.

Dorothy was part of my life as I grew up.  I spent many Christmas' with her children at our grandparent's home and Thanksgiving with her and her children.  I have only the fondest of memories of my Aunt.  Dorothy was a Christian woman, loving mother, and a sweet aunt.

Dorothy is well known for her prowess in word puzzles and games.  Actually, her 4 kids and 6 grandkids share a similar literary aptitude.  Queue up a competitive game of Boggle at her house.  The champion is usually Dorothy or one of her grandsons.  After watching a few games amongst the clan, I was encouraged to join, knowing I'd probably be blasted out of the competition early.  However, this MN gal is very competitive (and I love Boggle too) so I came up with a strategy that led to me being crowned the champion amongst these intelligent people.  I stuck to longer words and didn't spend time on typical words everyone would list.  I also knew they'd all cancel each other out with those little known words us common folk have never heard of.  It still makes me smile!
