Doris Kay (Walker, Younkins) Day a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandma, sister, Aunt and friend, passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 12, 2022, at the age of 78. She was born in Akron, Ohio on April 24, 1944 and remained in the Akron area where she raised her family as well. She is preceded in death by her husband-Paul L. Day Sr., parents-James Boyd & Doris Dean Walker, son-Scott Alan Younkins and many other family members . She is survived by her sons-Brian, Todd, Kevin Younkins, stepson-Paul Day Jr, stepdaughter-Cynthia Day Ward-Grable of Akron, grandaughter Samantha Ward, of Akron, grandson Tony Ward of Akron, Aunt Betty Short (Walker) of Akron, brother-James & (Diane) Walker of Toledo, brother-Dallas ( Judy) Walker of Akron, sister-Eva & (James) Gump of Mogadore, sister-Karen & (Dorsey) Whited of Akron,sister-in-law Grace Lockhart and many many more whom she loved dearly.
Doris worked for Rollaway Lanes where she was also an avid bowler for many years. L&K -(Godfrey's) (Brownies) Restaurant where she waitressed. Fairlawn Security as a security guard. Genie Garage Doors in Mogadore & Baltic Ohio where she retired. She didn't stop there she continued to work for Spins bowl Akron for 13 years where they called her MOM as well and she thought of them and spoke of them as her family and she also worked for Grandma Lena's Pie Co., as well as Angie's Pies until company closed.
Her heart was larger than life ,she was wise, sassy and she loved selflessly. Many knew her as Aunt Kay Kay. She always had a special way of making everyone feel unique and loved. She had endless stories to tell. For such a little lady she had so much love to give.
