My darling boy, you are celebrating your 44th birthday with Jesus, in Heaven. Oh, how your daddy and I miss you here, with us, on this earthly plain. One day we will, hopefully, be together again in Paradise. Have fun with your family and friends in Heaven. Love you always, my guardian angel dear.  Your Mama Bear
I miss our impromptu phone calls updating each other about our lives and aspirations. You always had such big dreams! I'm glad you're no longer in pain, but I wish you were still here with us all, lighting the world up with your brightness.
so many good times w that guitar of yours. THANK YOU.

In today's politics...I feel you and I would have talked a lot about it. I miss you...so much...
Can’t believe it’s been a year. We miss you!
Oh Ken. It's been a year already? You would've hated 2020, probably more than most of us. But you also probably would've found a way to bring everyone together somehow.
I miss our impromptu conversations, and you would be so happy to know I found the love of my life finally.
Hope you're doing well today somewhere up there. The world misses you greatly.
I share this memory of Ken Spivey's party videotaped a few years ago:

Alrighty, Ken... I miss you. That should be obvious. You were my best friend of 10 years. Literally. Met you in 2009. Of all the people I have met you KNEW when I was looking to vent versus when I wanted advice.

Our last conversation, which has since resulted to taking to heart and adjusting my performances, was you telling me how to not only better my performances but connect with an audience.

If you were here still, we'd have talked at least 2 more times since. Why? Because I've taken your advice....and then applied them to live performances. I'm sure you have some critiques to them and I'd LOVE to hear it.

But... Something else I've noticed.

I've made a huge range of musician friends who I had just met at performances but not really gotten to know until this world wide crazy...

Turns out...they think like you.

You and I had MANY conversations about your views being different for your career. But...are you sending me ALL those who thought like you and I to be friends with??? Seriously! Not complaining. But 4 musicians in a year in the most....not like us city that's not in California. You must be behind it.

If you are.... Thank you. I feel your presence in their appearance. I miss you a lot. I could use some guidance these days, anyway. But...Ken...I know you're doing well up there and watching over Audrey well and all.

Have a great time.

Love you and miss you. (This may not be my only or last writing to you... But...Yeah. Have a good one.)

I met this exceptional human being when I was submitting a doctor who tee shirt photo to his Facebook page, "the Ken spivey band". He messaged me, and we quickly became very good friends.
I'm a musician myself and we would talk about music, he would show me new work he was developing, talk about band drama, and of course his conventions work. I never did make it to a time lord fest or whovian singles night but I would always get to hear his plethora of stories.

I vaguely remember his last phone call (they were always very random and typically at peculiar times of the day/night), and he was in the hospital, somewhat delirious from the medicine, and always questioned me about my love life, specifically his words, "So hows your love life, Sophia? Tell me all about the new men in your life. Let me judge them." 😂

Our friendship was that of little contact, but it was meaningful (and I think he knew I never turn my phone on silent because I'm in the army). I was wondering how he was doing tonight out of the blue, and looked to see if he has an instagram page (I havent had facebook in many years) and to my dismay I found a post that informed me of his passing.

I can only imagine what his memorial service must have been like. Filled to the BRINK with whovians!! Just the way he would have wanted it. Lol

I remember him suffering. In an out of hospitals, never knowing what was wrong next, in so much pain at such a young age. I will miss his kind, and truly unique spirit. I'm happy to know that he is no longer in pain, but deeply saddened that it was at the cost of his life.

He will be incredibly missed, and the whovian world will miss, and remember him.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I knew Ken through my son Jonathan Liverio. He was a kindred spirit I admire and respecte him dearly. Praying for peace and strength for the family.
Eternal rest grant unto him,
O Lord, and let perpetual light
shine upon him. May the souls
of all the faithful departed, through
the mercy of God, rest in peace.

May Donald find bliss at our Lord’s side.
May all of those touched by grief for “Ken”, especially his family, find solace.

Holy, Blessed Mary, Immaculate Conception, Help of Christians, please intercede with us.
I knew “Ken” from our time together at the Catholic Student Union and Center.

I remember him as a man with a gentle spirit but a strong faith; like iron. “ Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. “(Proverbs 27:17 RSVCE). His faith strengthened and matured mine. The perceptive and probing conversations encouraged me to learn more.

Also, some my fondest memories from that time were events “Ken” put together. His band played for the CSU and our special outing to Mary Help of Christians. “Ken” wanted the whole world to know about the Salesians.

I am eternally grateful our lives touched and the subtlety profound impact “Ken” had on my life.

I met Kenny once in 2009 and he played his guitar for a bunch of us in a bar. He had a gift for bringing people out of their drudgery and into the moment. We are better people for having met him. May the Lord gaze upon him and say, "Well done, my faithful servant."
