Devin's obituary

Devin Simpson was a gentle giant. An expert fisherman. Invariably supportive. Generous to a fault. These are all sentiments we've heard echoed innumerable times over the course of the last week, as he and his family received an outpouring of support in the wake of a senseless tragedy that left our beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend fighting for his life.On April 28th, 2023, after a week of fighting, Devin's earthly body succumbed to injuries he sustained while protecting another.  He was 30 years old. He is survived by his parents, six brothers, two sisters, and a gaggle of nieces and nephews that will feel this loss viscerally, as well as a horde of friends and loved ones who have poured out of the woodwork to offer their support, prayers, and treasured memories during this time of upheaval. We would like to invite you to use this site to share cherished photos and to reminisce or recall the impact Devin had on your life. I believe that in times of seemingly unsurmountable grief it can be be beneficial to see the incredible amount of love that the person we've lost has inspired, and marvel at the sheer magnitude of the positive impact they had on those around them. Donations to expenses incurred during this ordeal are welcome and would be much appreciated but are not required. We'd like to offer this as a centralized space to show just how important Devin was and is to those who knew him, and as a venue to support his family during this time, as we all grieve and seek justice together. We'd like to maintain this as a positive space, focused on Devin's memory, and thus please ask that specifics of the case or calls for retribution are discussed elsewhere.___________________________________________________________________________________________Devin Trey Simpson, 30 years of age, entered into rest on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at U.C.
