Background
Devin's death was a tragedy, and while we've had incredibly generous offers of support from those who knew and loved him, the reality is that this is an expensive process and the life insurance timeline is uncertain. Devin's family has just recently dealt with the unexpected loss of his grandmother, depleting their savings, as well as the costs of last-minute tickets and lost work to get everyone together to be at his bedside. All money raised will go directly to his family and be used to cover the immediate costs of any services and burial, as well as keep them comfortable in the meantime and contribute to the medical bills amassed over seven days in the neuro-intensive care unit. Our goal is to give them the space to grieve this senseless loss and begin the fight for justice without worrying about how they will cover these expenses.
Over the last few days, we've heard from all over just how generous and unselfish Devin was--and it doesn't surprise us one bit. Now we're asking for anyone who is able to embody that spirit and lend a hand to his family as they navigate uncertain terrain in the aftermath of a trauma that no person should ever have to endure.
If you're unable to donate we would still love to hear from you and take great comfort in any pictures and memories of Devin that are shared. We are awestruck but unsurprised by the huge outpouring of support he has received over the past week and find solace in hearing about the lives that he touched and the wonderful memories he helped create.
