Derek Thomas Schluessler born July 9, 1981 passed away peacefully in his home on May 12, 2020 after a long-fought battle with brain cancer. He was the Husband of Jillene Elizabeth Schluessler (Gruber), they have two Daughters: Lucille Charlie (6y/o) and Henley Rose (3y/o). He was the Son of Terry and Valerie Schluessler (Sandkamp) and Son in Law of Matthew and Lori Gilman, Brother of Dustin (Dana) Schluessler, Tessa Fritz and Alaina (David) Libman, Uncle of Maddyn, Archer, Miller, Myla, Ivy and Nico.

Derek graduated from Hastings High School in 1999 and Dakota County Technical College in 2012. He was employed at Barr Engineering Company as a Engineering Technician.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 25 2020, visitation from 3-7 with memorial service at 5. Celebration will be at Almquist Farm 21321 Polk Avenue, Hastings, MN 55033. Please dress casually.
