Funny. Devilishly handsome. Mischievous. Kind. Sensitive. That's how I would describe Derek from the time I knew him when we worked together. I remember one time I was having a very bad day at work and Derek gave me a big hug and helped me work my tables. And I saw him do that for others, he just empathized with those who were down. But he also made work fun and we shared a lot of laughs together. My condolences to his family and close friends, it's a such a huge loss to lose someone with a huge personality and big heart. And the world's loss for losing such a hottie (I know he'd laugh at that). Rest in Peace Derek ❤

I miss you more than I can even say. I'd give anything to give you another hug, to see your smile. I want us to laugh just by looking at each other, knowing exactly what one another is thinking. I miss you teasing me and the girls and always being my protector. I LOVED being your baby sister and the days will never be the same. You were so talented and you never realized your capabilities. If you only knew how much you are loved! The girls and Matt miss you so much, Hay has your letter from Thanksgiving, broke her heart when she found it in her room. It was an honor to have you walk me down the aisle to marry the love of my life; you gave me to a family you were already so loved by, since you were apart of their family before I even met Matt. They love you, dearly. I will make sure your sweet kids will feel so loved by our family; they each are growing up into such incredible individuals. Say Hi to our family up there! We love you and miss you so much. Hate that you and Scotty had to leave us so early. There's not a day that goes by you both aren't in my thoughts. RIP big bro, I will rock your Cardinals hat in your honor but, only on days Seattle isn't playing 😜.

My dearest son, I’m so lost for words. My heart is so broken. I thank you for all the laughs and memories. There are so many to list, they would fill this page and then some up. You were so excited when you found out Mike and I finally got engaged and we asked you to be in the wedding. You rushed over to see us. While we were laughing and joking about things in the past you say, “Let’s take a pic to send to my baby sister” so we did. You of course, has to stick your tongue out for it. I decided that would work because that is just you and something you would do to your sister. We laughed more about how she would respond to it. I remember the excitement you had to be asked to be in the wedding. You told me that you were going to give out Haydyn a hard time down the aisle (in a fun way) so that you two would be the funny ones in the wedding. I now try and picture it, if only it would be something that I could really see in person. You said you looked forward to dancing with me at my wedding, if only we could do that. Son, I could go on for days and years with memories. There’s just not enough space here for it all. I can’t express how much I miss you and already miss my little text with I love you in the morning. You are the families hero. You saved your grandma and I can’t thank you enough for that. She said you are her Hero and will be forever her protector. You did an amazing job and am so proud of you. I will miss your talent, smile, hugs, your Hey mom, laughter, jokes, my kids on my cheek from you and so, so much more. Spread your wings and fly with Grace. Rest in peace my precious son and watch over our family. I always celebrated you here on earth and I will always celebrate you my Angel. I will always let your kids know how much you loved them. I will keep your memory alive. You sister (twin) and I will always keep your memory alive. I love and miss you so much. Until we meet again my precious son, give the family up there love for us.
