I’m sorry to hear the devastating news of Declan. He was a vivacious young man that brought smiles and laughter to everyone he met. At Skyline, I can visualize Declan on stage impressing everyone with his unique dance moves. I also visualize him dominating on the football field and volleyball court. His athleticism , unique talents, and personality made Declan a popular student on campus. Those that knew Declan are devastated by his loss but will forever cherish the fond memories we have of him.

This meant so much to us .. Thank you! I wish we could share the precise (funny) memory we have of D announcing he was joining the VB team. It was a record scratch moment seemingly out of the blue - but when he explained his beloved friend Castle simply ‘asked’ him to, we said go for it! Like every interest & passion our kids shared w/ us - we were all in 100% .. Confess we knew nothing ‘about’ VB - but soon grew to love it, the constructive & supportive Coaching you gave & his usual love for his Teammates was palpable. Can’t tell you how much ‘joy’ & (laughter) we all shared in the stands watching the other teams get a glimpse of the Big Guy comin out .. watching D’s lack of skill & Grace in his new sport be balanced by a whole lot of power & ‘enthusiasm’ :) He absolutely loved it! Was also great fun to see the surprise on the faces of all the football recruiters who were so used to hearing 2nd Sports like Track & Wrestling we’re not on his resume  .. But let us show you his VB highlights 😅 Even his College Coaches loved sharing that about him. Like everything he did - D pursued his own passions & we were so proud that he did. Thank you for being a huge part of that & a wonderful memory for our family. Health & Happiness to you & yours this coming year.

I had the honor and privilege to be part of Declan 's education. I looked forward to seeing him every day. He had a great warm smile, a wonderful personality; he was committed to his goal of playing football. He was the guy everyone liked, friendly, funny, caring, and compassionate. He brought me a fan from Puerto Rico that I still have in my classroom. RIP, Declan, a truly beautiful human being.

I had the honor of getting to know Declan while working with the WSU football team. I was there when he started with the team, and also there when he left. Over the years, Declan was a constant positive, lively presence. I will always remember Declan for his spirit and his kindness to all those around him.
