The unexpected death of a loved one is unspeakable. It’s a loss that nothing can prepare you for. The pain runs so deeply inside, it sends acute throbbing pulsations throughout the body, down to the marrow in the bone. On October 26th at 4:44 PM, my niece, Louchina Brown, watched her 27 year old beloved son Dechaun Brown take his last breath, as the family stood around his bedside offering prayers, love and support. The family is saddened that his life on earth was interrupted by a tragic heart-wrenching event that left him with a Traumatic Brain Injury. The situation is too painful to imagine. The family wants everyone to remember Dechaun for the love and joy that he shared with the world. He will never be forgotten or replaced. He loved God and shared the gospel with everyone he met. His generous heart was gentle and caring, and he wanted to help everyone. He loved the rain and showed gratitude for nature, green space, and all of God’s creation. He had a personality that would light up a room. There’s nothing that we can say that will ever make this easier for Dechaun’s mother and two sisters, his grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and host of friends. We are hoping to help defray the cost of his funeral services so his family has one less thing weighing on their minds as they are overwhelmed with grief.
