Debra's obituary

Debra Bedard, 69, of Chester, MD, passed away on February 11, 2023 after a brief, sudden battle with an illness.

Debra was born on March 20, 1953 to Robert Marks and Diane Bower in Queens, NY.  After high school, she went on to her first job as a certified nursing assistant for nursing homes and also working with children with mental disabilities. She later went on to be a retail manager for 10 years before stepping back to be a stay at home parent. In 1975, she wed Michael Bedard of Winstead, CT.  They went on to have 2 children, Kristen and Jennifer. After the passing of her first husband, Michael, she fell in love once more and went on to marry John Donovan, also of Chester, MD. Debra enjoyed cooking, gardening, music, and was a lifelong animal lover. She made everyone feel at home, especially her children’s friends, who she often treated as her own.  We will miss her greatly.

Debra was predeceased by both of her husbands, her father, Robert, her mother, Diane, her younger brother, Kenneth, and her younger sister, also named Diane.  She is survived by her brother, Robert Marks; daughters, Jennifer Scarborough of Ewa Beach, HI and Kristen Swayne of King, NC; her grandchildren Oliver, Zoe, and Bodi; her step-children Melissa, Joseph, Patrick and their families; and her adopted grandson, Ross Pineda. There will be a celebration of life in the summer of 2023 at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD. Exact date and time to be announced at a later date.
