Deanna's obituary
Deanna Etta (Stanwood) West, of Cherryfield who had just had her 71st birthday, was set free on Independence Day at her home July 4,2024 with her husband (James) and sister (Rona) by her side. Deanna was born June 16th,1953 in the little town of Milbridge, Maine where she grew up with the close community of Wyman. She made the 13th child (8th daughter) of Victor and Dorthy (West) Stanwood.
Deanna’s life was an adventure that began when she married James T. West on November 24,1982. They built quite a life together that included Deanna becoming a stepmother to James’s two sons Timothy and Thomas West. She cherished her daughter- in -law Claire Tom’s wife. She was the very best grandmother to Tommy’s three children David, Clarissa and Jessica. Along with being a great grandmother to Clarissa’s two children Cailin and Ryker and Jessicas son Henry, who she would do anything for. Deanna rarely missed an event in all their lives. She had many nieces and nephews near and far who she loved dearly.
Deanna retired from Wyman’s as an accountant. Thereafter she found her true passion of becoming a Pastor of the Methodist Church. She provided services to six congregations during her ministry. Settling back close to home Deanna took on her role as the Pastor of Wyman Methodist Church, where she quickly adapted and felt as she was where she belonged. Deanna was also a very crafty women that would put on many craft fairs, she loved to sew, make birthday cards, birthday cakes, blankets, you name it she did it. She had the gift of gab and could talk to anyone for hours. Deanna was the most thoughtful, caring, kind and helpful woman a person could think of. She was a beautiful woman who was always up for a new adventure. Taken many of those adventures with her best friend Janet and when they got back, they always had a story to tell.
Deanna’s journey may have ended on earth with us, but we believe her story goes on as she enters heaven. She was predeceased by her parents, Vic and Dot; sister, Ester; two brothers Elliot and Arnold; and stepson, Timothy
