Dean and I met in college. He was one of the smartest, funniest people I’ve ever met. Challenged me to be a stronger and better person. I kept his picture in my living room and shared it here. He avoided photos when we were together and have me a framed photo of us for my 19th birthday, which I’ve shared.

The first time we met, he talked me into driving from Woodland, Ca to South Lake Tahoe to visit his friend. We ended up deciding to leave and drove back towards Napa (I was a college student in Angwin), planning to split a room somewhere down the mountain. I was certain I could find a place the suburbs of Sacramento. I think we spent 6 hours on driving the 3.5 hour drive from SLT before we found a place. We still managed to talk after that trip.

I’m sorry to hear that he’s gone.
