All my love and condolences in this hard time.
Sincere condolences to Lorraine and family at this very sad time. David will be fondly remembered by his cousin, Heather McLean of Eastville Colchester County, and Kristina McLean (cousin), Ontario. Heather appreciated David's visits when he and his Dad, "Uncle Bob" drove out to Upper Stewiacke.  A few years ago,  David and his father embarked on a roadtrip to Ontario and Kristina has fond memories of visiting with the two of them and her Dad, James McLean (cousin). It is a real gift to have those memories.  Our heartfelt condolences.
Sincere condolences from David and Jean Ardley
On behalf of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons, we send our deepest sympathies to the Richey family.  David was a founding member of the C.A.R.P. NS. Environment Committee and he will be greatly missed.   We admired David's passion and dedication in working towards a greener world for future generations.

Lorraine, my sincere condolences on David’s untimely passing. He was way too young. I enjoyed the years I spent working with him. He was a good, community minded person. I’m sure your family will be a great comfort during this very difficult time.

David was a founding member of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons, Nova Scotia  Chapter, Environment Committee.  His early work in meeting with Geoff Regan, former Speaker of the House, and Darren Fisher to raise awareness of Blue Mountain-Birch Cove Lakes was of great value.  Similarly, his environmental work with HRM Alliance in helping to establish the Green Network Plan was significant.

David’s passion for protecting the environment influenced his son Matthew who ran for the Green Party.

David will be greatly missed.

We are saddened to hear about David’s passing and we send our deepest condolences.   I have had the honour of knowing David for many years and greatly valued his insight, passion  and dedication for protecting the environment.  We will be making a donation in his name to the North Grove Community Food Centre.

David will be greatly missed.

I'm saddened to learn of David's passing. I work at The North Grove and came to know David quite well when I lead the Walking Group. He was always such a gentleman and showed kindness and care to everyone. We had many interesting conversations along the walking routes and I'm so happy I got to know him.

My deepest condolences,

Caralee McDaniel

I was absolutely shocked and saddened to hear of Dave's passing.  He was a good man, and a good friend.  My deepest condolences to all of the Richey family.  Dave, you will be sorely missed.
Dear Lorraine and family! Sending my deepest condolences from afar and praying for you all during this difficult time. All my love, Heather Winchcombe
My condolences to all in the family.  Sending hugs.

Uncle David was always a quiet force holding a lot of things together. His hugs were always the best. It didn't matter if it had been hours, days, or years since I had seen him - he would grab hold and hug so fiercely I knew he was truly happy to see me. He made me feel seen amid the chaos of our large family gatherings. I'm so terribly sad to say goodbye, and I'm devastated to never receive one of those hugs again.

Much love to my cousins, my aunts and uncles, and everyone feeling the absence of wonderful Uncle David. He will be so truly missed. Sending everyone an Uncle-David-sized-hug. ❤
