David's obituary

On Tuesday, January 7th 2025, we lost a kind, gentle, and loving man: David Earle Walmsley. Dave passed peacefully with his wife Nitsa and his step-daughter Kira at his side at the Kaiser Medical Center in Santa Clara. Dave leaves behind his loving wife Nitsa, his two sons Jesse and Daniel, his step-daughters Kira and Kendra, his grandsons Rain, Aurélien, and Achilles, and his dog Oliver.

Dave was a generous and thoughtful man who would go out of his way to “show up” for others. Nitsa recounts that he would often perform sweet gestures like the creation of a peaceful paradise in their backyard, complete with a small waterfall, or filling up her car with gas when she didn’t even know he’d slipped out with her car keys. He was an intellectually curious man, and loved long phone conversations with his son Jesse or his nephew Ted about the latest news and technology. Dave continued to gather knowledge and learned new things, even up through his final days. He was an excellent Grandpa, patient enough to sit through long episodes of Paw Patrol with his grandson Aurélien, because he knew how much Aurelien liked to have someone to watch with him. Dave will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dave’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.parkinson.org) or to any compassionate organization that works to eliminate the suffering of people or animals.
