In heartfelt remembrance, we mourn the loss of David Sun, who departed this life on August 23, 2023.

A devoted husband to Meeijih, an exemplary father to Jennifer, Christina, and Mark, he was also a cherished father-in-law to Andy, Len, and Malea. He enjoyed doting on his grandchildren Alexis, Amelia, Braden, and Adeline, who lovingly called him “Ah-Gong” (grandpa). David will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Steadfastly wearing his 1990’s neon ski jacket, David was a man of notable generosity and honesty— always giving while asking nothing for himself. A marathon runner, he faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He was a hardworking man who dedicated his energy wholesomely to the welfare of his family— whether it be making dumplings or shoveling the driveway.

He instilled the importance of hard work in his children and ran the household with military-esque discipline. He was always there for his children, whether it was creating ad-hoc “chicken and rabbit” math problems, picking “Gu-Tsai” from the garden, or driving them to music school. He always emphasized the importance of family, ensuring that his children were well-acquainted with their uncles, aunts and numerous cousins— usually involving food.

We are working on getting the memorial service planned and will inform everyone of the details as soon as we do. David and Meeijih attended the Boston Taiwanese Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the church using the "Give" tab on this website.

“Bah”, you are now at peace but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you always and know you’re in a better place. Rest in peace.
