Dave's obituary
passed away at home in his beloved chair. Dave was born in Bloomington Indiana to
Glen and Diamond Mather. He received his degree in Journalism, with a minor in English, from Indiana
University in 1982. He went on to work for different newspapers in both Indiana and Virginia. Dave
married Elizabeth Mather (E.A.), after meeting each other at the Indianapolis 500, a race he loved to
watch, and refused to miss.
Dave loved to spend his time volunteering for Virginia Airborne Search and Rescue and the Freedom
Museum in Manassas Virginia, Northern Virginia Veterans Association, and the Manassas Regional
Airport. When not volunteering, Dave loved Graphics Editing and Photography, with always capturing
family and friends. He would always do anything for anyone, within being a part of everyone’s life.
Dave was preceded by his father Glen Mather. He was survived by his mother Diamond Mather with his
spouse E.A. Mather, children Heather Rothstein and Michelle Aphrodite, and grandchildren T’iyler
Rothstein, Jade Carey, Makenna Aphrodite.
Memorial service for Dave will be held Friday October 1st, From 6:00pm-8:00pm at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd, Springfield, VA 22151
