David's obituary

David Anthony Gerard passed away peacefully with his wife and sons by his side at Stanford Hospital in California on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021, at the age of 70.

He joins his parents, Anthony and Mary, in the Light.

David is survived by his wife, Miho; his sons, Justin and Pierre; and his siblings, Ann, Ellen, Joyce, Leon, and Richard.

David was born on November 13th, 1950 in Wolcott, Connecticut.

David’s education included a B.A. with High Honors in the College of Social Studies at Wesleyan University in 1972, a Ph.D. and M.A. in Social-Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute, and a Diplôme d'études approfondies in Psychology and Education from The University of Strasbourg.

David worked for most of his career as an organizational psychologist and a consultant.

David served one term from 2014 on the Board of Education in Morgan Hill, California, and represented California’s 19th Congressional District in 2016 and 2020 as a delegate for former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

David was an active member of the Santa Cruz Friends Meeting in his last years of life.

David loved baseball, politics, and the life of the mind.

David’s ashes will be interred in Taiwan.
