I just saw this on your FB feed. I had no idea he passed away. I’m in shock. So sorry for your loss, your families loss, Barb’s & her sister’s…my thoughts ands prayers are with you. Love Wendy, Maddox & Monte
After David’s uncle Allan and I got married we wanted a larger apartment other than the studio apartment we had in the Bronx. Betty Gallagher to our rescue and she told us about a 4 room apartment on Caryl Avenue in Yonkers, NY within easy walking distance of the Gallagher household. One Easter Sunday we had dinner there with our small children Sean and Anne.  Somewhere  in my multitude of boxes of photos from those days I have a picture of David with my children. David is holding some type of large Easter basket full of seasonally appropriate treats which he shared with my children. Beautiful smiles on all the faces. I am quite sure he also shared with Barbara and Nancy!❤️

David's father, Edward, was my Godfather. David was so much like his dad. He had a very quiet humor and was full of mischief, just like his dad. He was a man of few words also like his dad. When I was two years old my Uncle Eddie was just back from his stint in the service. He was visiting my mom (his sister) when my older brother by 11 months (yes we were Irish twins, I was 2 years old) came into the living room and announced, "you should see what she's doing". My mother sighed because I was always getting into something and told my Uncle Ed to go see what I was doing. When he came into the kitchen, he saw me looking in through the window, smiling with my hands on the window and back to the outside. (we were 4 stories above the ground) Somehow, I had climbed out and my brother closed the window leaving only about 2 inches open on the bottom. My Godfather quietly approached smiling, put his hand into the opening and grabbed my foot and pushed the window open, dragging me inside. I was still laughing, I thought it was fun.  When my Uncle got back in the living room, face as white as a ghost, my mother asked, "what did she get into this time". My Uncle said, "you don't want to know". He eventually told her or I would not know this story.

Although it’s been many years since David went to Florida and I have stayed in the NJ/New Hampshire world, I remember his birthdays in Yonkers. He was a great kid then and was a great person each time I saw him and his family. I have to agree with the sentiments spoken at the memorial as pointed out by his many fans

So, so sorry that I couldn’t make the service in person. Dave was a such a great cousin and such a big part of my early childhood. I will forever cherish my memories of him and we will all miss him terribly. My favorite memories are the Friday nights at our house, the Radford house, and the time that he gave me a stuffed horse because I loved it. Always happy, smiling and laughing - forever in our hearts dear cousin. 💔

Dave my cousin… we grew up together had loads of fun. Dave started working early he was more mature then I was I envied him. He was delivering papers before he was probably old enough 59 Radford Street will always be special the fences we climbed the games of roundup. Basketball in the yard Happy my favorite Beagle. Aunt Betty not my mother cut the biggest piece of birthday cake. One night sleeping over I guess my sister Sue slept over too Dave had a tape recorder. He taped “Barbara and Susie shut up!!” And at odd times during the night he’d play it LOUD and of course when anyone walked in we were sleepin. He also had a phrase for a while “Eat my pedoggie!!” Sorry that was funny we were kids. We used to exchange Christmas gifts we had gotten this horrible cologne from aunt Joan well one of us kept one don’t know who now but for next few Christmas’s it went back and forth hidden in a misshaped box. Going back earlier Barbara Nancy and Dave as they were leaving and uncle Eddie when he wanted to leave was leaving they snuck me into the car back seat and somehow hid me …… seemed like a great idea !!! Well it wasn’t lol when uncle Eddie heard giggling and commotion in back I was discovered and the fun was over as uncle Eddie had to turn around take me back lol we were kids what did we know. At high school age we sort of went our own ways life goes on. The memories of a time an innocent time never left me … when I heard of David dying I felt like Richard Dryfus I. The movie stand by me … instantly went back to our replaying past up to the point of a beer party in Tibbits Brook park I think high school graduation. Time and last the time our family yes all 8 got in a station wagon and drive to Florida wow seems like yesterday and as fast as life is it was …. Some deaths and there have been many with covid are hard but expected it’s ones like this that just knock ya to the ground … until we meet again Dave for your Birthday I. Heaven only take the slice of cake your mom cuts. It will be so worth it. My condolences to Dave’s Family I know he will be totally missed !

I’m so very sorry that I can’t be there. David was a wonderful cousin who I love very much. My favorite memories of childhood include the Gallaghers coming to our house Friday nights, him coming to surprise me at work when I was a teenager, and visiting in Florida. Until we meet again, dear cousin, give hugs to all our family in Heaven for me.

SusieRae and family, You moved next door to me in  October. It was so nice to get to know you even if it was a short time. You always had a smile on your face!  Condolences to you SusieRae, Kyle, Tracey (Michael) and Douglas( Faith).
Such a wonderful man! Prayers for comfort for the family during these difficult times! Tracey , I love you and I'm always thinking of you!

My cousin Nancy called me to tell me about David’s passing. I’m their first cousin on their father’s side. I am so sorry to hear this. But I’m so glad I will be able to attend virtually.  All my love to the family,

Roe Antinore

I’ve known David all his life and he was a great person. He will be missed.
