Part Two. How neat it was to be reunited with David (& Tommy) at Marquette! Marquette decided to create a club swim team (thanks for those who took the initiative!).  So! We went for it! I was feeling blue over life stuff and David was there welcoming me each day. I would check in and go to the 10th floor of the famously known all boys dorm as the beer can. He would help me with my homework. I was intimidated by my homework. He kept it so simple and calming. Then we’d swim! The swimming was familiar, providing those good ‘ol’ endorphins. That same, sweet, loving  little boy 9, 10, and 11) was still saying “just follow me…follow my steps and kicks in the pool”.  I made it through that tough stuff then went on to thrive. He is my family by choice. Thank goodness for David.
Oh my gosh! I/we love David so much! I first met Dave (David) on BRRYALL swim team when we were 9, then, 10, then 11. He always encouraged us during practices!  I was often intimidated by the “next set” we were going to do and he would move to my lane and say follow me — you can even touch my feet if you are catching up! I was afraid of the deep end “drop off” and he said, just focus on my feet.  And bam! I’d make it through! He offered the same at swim meets. I was afraid to do a 100 butterfly. He (& Tom O’Hara) stood at the end of the lane cheering and telling me to breathe. He was an amazing part of my youth then, and it continued when we reconnected at Marquette University. That will be my next story 🤗☺️❤️

David always brought joyful creativeness to me and probably all those who lived in the Cove.  When I was 12, Mrs. Edmier (Christel) entrusted me to keep her boys out of trouble when playing with my little brother Jimmy. (The rascals were a little more than Oma could handle as they started roaming the neighborhood.)  I was privileged to watch David grow into a kind, loyal young man, then enjoy him mature with his family through Christmas cards and Facebook posts.  I pray that memories of David's loving nature will sustain you until you meet him again. Christel and Victoria, please don't blame Jimmy for his loud rock and roll.  I couldn't stop their enthusiasm! Blessings to all of you.

Just catching up after a lot …
2013, Phoenix, AZ, USA
Just catching up after a lot of years.
Dave was a character. He brought energy and a laugh to virtually everything he did. So many great stories in our freshman and sophomore dormitories, the Wells Street bars and even on the basketball court. I called him on a whim when I was in Phoenix and we had an absolute blast catching up. He will be missed by all of his buddies from Marquette.

I haven't visited with David in years and wish it hadn't been so long since seeing him. I will truly miss him. Condolences to the family.

David (and Tommy) were the first friends I had upon moving into the Cove in 1967 with my family. My parents were working hard to finish moving in and keeping us kids occupied. I believe Christel came over from across the street, offering to help out with watching me. I jumped at the chance to meet the boys and play in the sandbox in the backyard. The rest is history. Christel and the boys were such an influence in my life. I know I would not be the same person I am today without having met them. David is still such a beautiful soul. I was blessed to know him in this lifetime. I was lucky enough to see him in 2023 when visiting my mother-in-law in Scottsdale for the holidays. Sadly, I am back in Scottsdale now. I had planned on meeting him again for lunch with my wife.  While this will not happen, I will always keep our last time breaking bread together in my fondest of memories. David and the entire Edmier family will always mean so much to me. May he rest in God's loving hands!
Your pictures are so beautiful.  David loved you all so much. Thankful I just got to spend time with  him in Arizona. It’s still so hard to believe.  He definitely was loved by many .  A great man Gone way too soon💙
I’m so sorry for the sudden loss of your dad. He sounded like a wonderful person. My thoughts go out to your family during this difficult time.
