One year ago today, I got a call that changed everything. Even before I knew the words, I felt it coming, the kind of call you never want to receive. Anyone who’s been away on deployments knows that feeling when certain calls come through, especially from certain people… your mind starts racing before a single word is said.
And just like that, our circle lost a real one. A mentor, a brother, someone who meant more than words can really explain.
A year later, it still feels like yesterday. Not a day goes by that you don’t cross my mind. The lessons, the laughs, the conversations, we carry all of that with us. Your presence, your impact, your brotherhood, none of it fades.
I’m doing better with holding these tears for the most part. I try to walk strong and face each day. Some days I can, and some days I can’t and just let them out.
Prayers and strength to your wife, your kids, and your entire family. We carry you with us, and we carry them in our hearts.
Continue to guide, protect, and watch over us. A true king in heaven. You will always be loved and never forgotten… forever + a day.
