We met originally at DeLor when Zeke and Megan were in the same class. I loved seeing Darina around town- whether it was at a Cabi party, yoga or at the Kobetsky’s (many times!). Darina always had a sparkle in her eye and a sly smile. She was a lovely person and will be missed.

We had the opportunity to meet when our kids attended DeLor Montessori and were introduced by dear Marie and Jimmy.. Darina always seemed to have a twinkle in her eye  and clearly adored and was adored by her family and friends. I can hear her voice still.  Most sincere condolences.

Dear Paul, Maeve, Katrina and Zeke

So sorry to hear of Darina’s passing.

Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.

May she rest in peace.

Dear Paul, Maeve, Katrina, and Zeke -  Wishing all of you comfort in this difficult time. Darina will be forever missed by all of us, a truly special human being who made all our lives better from her presence.  I was honored to have known her as a colleague and friend, able to see her love and compassion make an impact every day at work and also at home.  Working in healthcare can be a demanding, stressful environment with very long hours. Despite this, Darina made all of us remember the most important things - caring for our families, ourselves and each other, leveraging the collective strength of the team to weather any storm, and to always maintain a sense of dignity & respect no matter what challenge we faced!  Her incredible strength and resilience throughout her life is an example I will never forget. I will always cherish our conversations at the light of day and dark of night - always with a wry sense of humor and quick wit. With Love, Ed Chan
Truly heartbroken to hear of Darina’s passing. She was one of the very best Chief Nursing Executives I’ve ever had the privilege to work with—but more than that, she was a kind, elegant, and genuine person. Darina was smart, professional, and truly a class act who inspired everyone around her. My time working with her at Good Samaritan Hospital will always remain one of the highlights of my career. I feel deeply grateful to have known her, and she will be profoundly missed. Sincere condolences to her family and friends. God rest her soul, and may her beautiful memories live eternal💔🙏
My condolences to Darina's family, extended family and friends. I first met Darina when she joined the Kaiser Permanente Oakland team as CNE. I was an Assistant Nurse Manager at the time and will never forget how she always made the time to acknowledge everyone. My fondest memory of Darina was when I was at a leadership development conference. Darina came over to the table where another ANM and I were sitting, sat down, and started a conversation with us like we had known her forever!! We talked about our children, families, and Ireland of course. Darina was such a humble and kind person. An amazing woman that will truly be missed!!
I had the pleasure of working for Darina at Kaiser Oakland. She had a gentle and caring spirit about her yet she was a force to be reckoned with. Darina was an inspiration to all and may her memory live on. My deepest condolences to Paul, Maeve, Katrina and Zeke.
Dear Paul and Family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Darina was special to all of us.  I met Darina many years ago when she worked at San Jose Medical and I worked at Good Samaritan Hospital.  We worked together to implement patient classification system at both Medical Centers.   Many years later, Darina and I ran into each other at a Kaiser offsite and picked up where we left off.  We finally worked together at Kaiser Oakland.  She had a wit about her and a twinkle in her eye.  Darina and I had so much in common including having children attend the same college.  I miss her greatly!
Dear Paul, Kavanagh & Treacy families, You loss is shared by so many. Darina was an amazing human being, nurse and friend. I know she cared deeply for her family and her humanity was far reaching. She interviewed me for my executive role at KP and was instrumental in my decision to join the organization and work alongside her and others to execute and amplify the mission for all of our patients and stakeholders. She was a true professional and mentor to those above and below her on the organizational structure. And a true friend and colleague. With love and deep sympathy, Ann Williamson

My deepest condolences to Darina's family. I first met Darina as she began her first day at Good Samaritan as I tried to understand what the heck she was saying through her Irish brogue. From the start, she had that mischievous twinkle in her eyes that let me know we were in for a working relationship full of strategy, conniving and a friendship that would ultimately transcend any shenanigans we might “stumble” into (or purposefully generate).

Darina’s warmth and transparency always won the day.  She was admired by friend and foe alike and could usually present a convincing argument to gain the cooperation of any opponent, though there weren’t many.

My admiration for Darina grew into a lasting, trusting, loving friendship that I will forever cherish.  My heart aches for her family, Paul & the girls, and the many family & friends still in Ireland and elsewhere, as well as all those who grew to love her in friendship.  We all share in the love that Darina gave & we reciprocated.  We shall always know and be thankful for the many blessings that Darina showered on our lives.

May she rest in peace and reside for all eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

My deepest sympathies to Paul and the kids. Darina always shared how proud of her family she was - and you were her true north. She was a great woman, leader, nurse, and mentor. Such a loss.
My condolences to the family and appreciation for the many hours the family shared Dr. Kavanagh in order that the profession of Nursing and the care of so many might be better.  In loving memory.
Darina was a lovely person. May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to her family in the future.
Sharing our deepest condolences to Darina's family and loved ones from the KP Scholars Academy.  Darina was deeply committed to the ongoing development and growth of nurses and caregivers.  Her passion and joy in developing others to ensure nurses had the knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide the highest quality safe care, and helping nurses reach for their dreams, was exemplary.
