Uncle Dan’s untimely and unforseen departure is cause for profound pain and sadness.  Yet, I smile thinking about the priceless memories he left us.  Kelly, your tribute to him was perfect.  He was truly a good man,  all too rare these days.  We wish the family strength to let time heal.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Dan! I felt honored to have met him! 

Dan and I were in Shanghai . I would say somewhere around midnight on a Friday evening. He and I had spent a few hours talking about the adventure called life. It was the first time I really got to see his huge heart and love for his family.  We had just given all the cash we had on us to a women with a newborn baby who had no diapers.  We were feeling pretty good about ourselves to the point that we signaled to a night time construction crew to let us have their sledge hammers.  Like two teenage boys we busted down a wall of an old brick building.   Yes a whole 8 by 10 brick wall. We were soaked from head to toe in sweat , mud and laughing to the point that a Chinese policeman came by ,smiled and took our toys away.  I felt so good to have gotten to share that memory with him and to see the soft side of Dan. It still makes me smile.  Thanks Dan. I always enjoyed you!

I am so very sorry and deeply saddened by this news. He was a great guy and landlord. I will miss him coming by the house, sending my love and prayers to his family at this difficult time

Dan and I worked together and he quickly became good friends.  We traveled around the world- from Toyko, to Hong Kong, to Singapore and to Paris. Having Dan along made it fun.  He was always smiling and laughing, with a friend in every port.  I was shocked at the news and my heart goes out to Kelly and his extended family.  Please pass along information about the service as I hope to be able to attend.    I am truly sorry for your loss, but he was a man with a life well lived.
