Dana was a true gentleman and one of the finest supervisors I ever had the pleasure of working for. He was always available to lend an ear and give you his complete attention when you needed advice. He will be sorely missed.

Not only was Dana the finest gentleman you would ever meet. But, he was a man of strength also. I had the pleasure to work with him in NYFO and as an Inspector in DC. If you knew him, you became a better person. Rest in Peace Dana, you served this country at the highest levels.

I was so sorry to hear about Dana's passing. I never worked with Dana personally even though we had a very similar timeline in the Secret Service. Dana was truly one of the "good guys" and was always a great gentleman. My condolences to all the family.

It was an honor and privilege to work with Dana at the US Secret Service when he served as the Deputy Assistant Director in the Office of Protective Research. He was a true gentleman and the ultimate professional. He inspired others in the office and always maintained calm during stressful times.
On 9/11, Dana, who was then the Assistant Director in the Office of Administration, became aware of an incredibly frightening personal issue affecting me.
With all the high-level responsibilities Dana had as a member of the Director's staff, he still found time to check on me repeatedly throughout the day until my situation was resolved. I will never forget him for helping me through a traumatic experience!
Dana touched a lot of lives. His kind, thoughtful consideration was a mark of the man. He earned the love and respect from everyone he knew.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dana Brown. I had the honor of working for him, and he was truly the kindest and most professional person I have ever met. He genuinely cared for his staff and was deeply committed to the growth of the agency, knowing that strong leadership and development ultimately helped ensure the safety of all. Dana was an amazing man, an exceptional leader, and a true professional. He will be greatly missed, and his legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

Sorry for your loss. I spent 17 1/2 years as an Air Marshal and Director Brown was the best and only decent one out of all the others. He came on board and corrected the stupidity of his predecessor right away. He treated us like professionals, earning all our respect. No wonder he was a Marine! Sadly he left us too soon and the stupidity started up again. He was a Leader among lesser men. It was an honor to serve under him!

For Lorraine and Lisa and all of Dana’s family and loved ones who mourn the loss of this fine man, I offer my deepest sympathies on his passing.
I will amplify my “fine man”statement here. From the time we first met as new USSS agents in Pittsburgh in the spring of 1976 until almost 50 years later, I can unequivocally say that I have never met a finer man inside or outside of the service than Dana. His character, leadership, intellect, and humility were traits that I always admired. Whether it was casework in western Pennsylvania or any number of protection assignments we went on together, Dana was an example to emulate. I miss my friend.
Respectfully,
