My sincerest condolences to Dan’s family.  Dan was a true friend and educator to me.  He was my go to person for safety questions and help. He was generous with his time and never talked down to me. He was a consummate professional and one of my staunchest supporters as a female leader in construction. He had whit, charm and the biggest bear hug!!!  What a tremendous loss to the industry and me personally.  I will miss him.  I know he’s making sure everyone in heaven is living safely!
My condolences to Dan's family. I first met Dan when he worked at St. Paul Companies and later at Zurich.  He walked me through many construction project specs and job sites and was a true advocate for safety in the construction industry.  I will always remember his great smile and the pride he held for his family.  Rest easy my friend.
Dan and my late husband, Tom Lemmens, were good friends and classmates at UMD. We sold him and LaVonne 13 acres of our land up the North Shore because we new they would be wonderful neighbors. He was an amazing person. Fond memories!
I am forever grateful to Dan.  He was a great leader and I'm fortunate to have worked for him at St. Paul Companies.  He supported me and my family after a catastrophic experience that was above and beyond what one can expect.  For that, I will always remember Dan for the generous person he was.  He will be missed.  My condolences.
I worked with Dan and his brother Brian for many years when Dan was at Sundt Construction and Zurich. He was a great guy, fun to know and work with and truly dedicated to his profession. The world needs more just like him.
Dan was a mentor, a friend and a tireless advocate for people. His work to further construction safety opened many doors and saved many lives and I was lucky enough to have worked with him and for him.
I’ll always remember the chats filled with humor, wit, and love with Mr. Murphy. Few others could tease as well as he could. I value all those conversations about life, and I’m most grateful for his fathering of the beautiful, strong, smart, and loyal Dr. Murphy who’s making an impact in health care one patient at a time by following in her Dad’s footsteps making space and time for humor, wit, and love. Love to all of the Murphy clan.
Some of my best memories were with Dan coaching and cheering myself and others on in soccer, back when we were tiny tots. One of the best guys around, and he will be greatly missed. All my love you.

Dan was a larger than life personality!  I have very fond memories of him cheering us on at our soccer games and making everyone feel welcome at team meals hosted by the Murphy's.  We send you our sincerest condolences and hope you have a lifetime of excellent memories to find comfort in.
