The past few months have been daunting and amazing while, our chosen family has dealt with dual devastating cancer diagnosis changed the course of one of the kindest souls I have ever known.
Dan is loved by so many, and I can tell you for the few of us that were able to bear witness to the indescribable brotherhood, friendship, & soul connections, I assure you I will never be the same. The core of these friendships must have been built on a level of trust and respect fostered by the pure heart of Dan himself. It takes a special person to build these types of friendships that can traverse the very worst life can deliver, and these men, these chosen brothers showed up day after day, night after night, every step of the way theses incredible men were there for their Brother! Be it starting his beloved 65 mustang, building a ramp, taking walks, oh the glorious thumb wars!
From the outside looking in these men appear to be ordinary men, however, when push came to shove, this group of me turned out to be extraordinary men! They became superhero’s for their brother, each other, his family and all of us lucky enough to love them. It has been the honor of my lifetime to watch my husband and his fellow extraordinary brothers fill their roll in Dan & his family! Brothers for life!
Dan is the root of this amazing group of extraordinary men, each one is better for knowing him, each one will carry his zest for life, his heart of gold & his depth of brotherhood and true love of life with them as they share each day they are gifted with. May we all appreciate these extraordinary men, and embrace each day with excitement, joy & love!

Will miss you Danno. So unfair you had to go through this. My thoughts are with Ally and the kids. Enjoy the hockey and the open bar in the sky man.

I'm sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I had the opportunity to work with him for a short period of time. Dan actually started the Ben Sawyer location about a month before I did. He was always willing to help in anyway that he can. He was very soft spoken and compassionate. I can say he was one of my favorite managers. I am truly going to miss him. My sinere condolences to Ali and the entire family.

I was so sad to learn of Dan's passing. I worked with him for many years at Healthsource/Cigna and I remember him as always being happy. He never got frazzled no matter what the crisis of the day was. He was a steady hand and always fun to work with. My sincere condolences to his friend and family.

Grateful that Dan and Ali made brave choice to allow his last weeks to be at home. Interim Healthcare is forever grateful for the opportunity to have served this amazing family and looking forward to seeing the Hockey friends May 3. He truly had an amazing community of family and friends like I had never seen in my 14 years in hospice. Prayers of courage and strength in days ahead.

Our deepest condolences. It was a privilege knowing Dan and getting to spend time with him. He always had a smile on his face and lit up a room when he entered. I loved playing hockey with him and I loved the constant joking around on the bench and in the locker room. He will be missed greatly! Love and prayers.

So very sorry for the loss of this wonderful person. I worked with Dan at Healthsource in Concord,NH many years ago and this news was so very sad to hear. What a kind man. My heart goes out to his family. My deepest sympathies and prayers to all of you. He helped me get through the time my brother who was also in the National Guard was called up to serve in Desert Storm . Dan was my supervisor at the time. I will never forget his kindness.

I didn’t get a chance to meet Dan, but I heard nothing but great things about him, I had the pleasure of playing baseball with Ali this past fall and you could see that Dan was her person. Ali, I love you with all my heart and I’m truly sorry for your loss…I lost my dad to cancer as well and it still hurts to this day….it’s been almost 3yrs. Kelli and I are here if you need anything.

Well, what a great neighbor! So glad we knew you for these past 7 years. Always ready to help, give construction advice, play with and care for our fur babies as well as your own. So saddened by your passing but so glad you are pain free now! Love you, buddy

Damnit Dan! This hurts my heart. One of the best managers to work with at MUSC. Dan always cared about his team and coworkers and helped in any way he could. I find comfort in knowing you’ve won the battle my friend. Prayers for all.

This hurts. Thankful I got a chance to know and work with you. I still have the shells you brought me from one of your Florida keys diving trips. That’s the kind of guy you were… you did what you said you’d do, you were considerate of others & your heart was made of gold. Rest easy now, your fight has been won on the other side of Heaven. ♥️ Praying for all.

We are blessed to have met Dan and enjoyed many memories with him. Dan was friendly, compassionate, easy to talk with, and willing to do whatever was needed. He will be greatly missed but all the memories going through our minds today will last forever and end with a smile or chuckle. Dan will be Zoeys guardian angel and protect her forever.
