Dan Joseph Darling, 60, of Mt Pleasant, SC passed away on April 28, 2023, after a tough battle with cancer surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Dan was born on January 14, 1963 to Anthony and Carmen Darling at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He grew up in New Hampshire with his siblings Mike, Stony, and Penny where his love of sports, the outdoors and family fun began. In addition to serving for 6 years in the Army National Guard, Dan was a loving father to Brennon and David Darling, and stepdad to Brendan Pastor and Angela Fullenkamp. Dan chose to settle in Mount Pleasant, SC where he met his wife, Alessandra (Ali) Pastor and worked as a manager at MUSC for nearly 11 years.

To call Dan a friend was to call him family, and the long stretch of passions throughout his life drew in friends to become his chosen family. A Son, Father, Veteran, loving Husband, Brother, Pops, hockey player, scuba diver, baseball player, coworker, manager, handyman, builder, boater, backyard mechanic, camper, and many other hobbies were among his life loves. Everything he did, he did with passion and a warrior spirit, and every life he touched was filled with love, laughter and joy.

The way Dan touched our lives will live with us forever. He and his smile will be missed dearly every day. The stories shared will continue to keep him walking with us. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation. We request all of Dan’s friends and family to join us in celebrating his life at Revelry Brewing Company on May 3, 2023 from 6-9pm.
