My biggest condolences to Angela and all the family. I feel great sorrow over it. Dan was like a second father for me. Our respect and friendship for the other was unforgettable. We enjoyed together incredible football times and out of the field too.
He sent me the attached picture in 2013 with the title "Guardiola and Messi", I was his proud captain. Then, in 2016, he sent me again the same picture under the title "Memories". That reflected the big admiration and connection that we had.
I will never forget him. All the courage for the family now, he is embracing his beloved from somewhere...

Dear Dan,
You were a big fighter with a big, pure heart full of passion.
We have fought so many battles together in the last 12 years – on the football pitch and often beside. We were having endless phone calls in the evenings, we were meeting for coffee or going for lunch to discuss how to maintain the good spirit of our football club and still win the cup...
In your last fight I could not support you, Dan, but I carry your friendship in my heart, and I will continue fighting. Giving up is no option.
May your soul rest in peace, Coach. My thoughts are with you, with Angela, with Ginta, with Renata and with all the family. Words cannot express the sadness that I feel.

My condolences to Dan's family. I first met Dan when I started working for Rolls-Royce in Montreal Canada back in 2005. We would often go for lunch together or joke about so many things. He was very charismatic and able to handle tight situations just by exercising his communication skills! He was very funny and it was easy to get along with even though sometimes, he could have been perceived too harsh with his remarks but that was making him stand out as part of being funny and regardless, he will be missed!
