Coy's obituary
Coy Dean Conklin, a cherished resident of Jamestown, gracefully completed his earthly journey on June 2, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on January 24, 1932, Coy lived a life enriched with love, dedication, and laughter.
For an impressive span of 72 years, Coy was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Peggy. Together, they shared a profound bond that stood the test of time. Coy was a beacon of love and guidance as a father to four children, and his legacy continues through his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Coy and Peggy embarked on a remarkable entrepreneurial journey together, laying the foundation of what would become Triad Trophy & Gifts. With steadfast determination and mutual support, they transformed their shared dream into a thriving business that would serve the Jamestown community for nearly half a century. Behind the counter, Coy's jovial demeanor, generous spirit, and penchant for humor endeared him to patrons, while Peggy's unwavering dedication ensured the success and longevity of their establishment.
Away from his bustling storefront, Coy found solace and joy in the company of his grandchildren. His unwavering presence, coupled with his innate kindness and gentleness, left an indelible mark on their lives.
Coy also had a deep affection for the beach, a place where cherished memories were made with his beloved family. His grandchildren fondly recall summers spent under the sun, with Coy spoiling them with hermit crabs, playing in the sand, and sharing moments of tranquility on the porch, listening to the soothing rhythm of the waves. These beach adventures, filled with laughter and love, remain etched in their hearts as a testament to Coy's enduring spirit.
Coy's enthusiasm for life found its zenith during the holiday season, particularly Christmas, where he and Peggy graciously opened their home to showcase their magnificent Christmas village. Adorned with whimsical decorations and a talking Christmas tree, their home became a haven of festive cheer and familial warmth.
A lover of all seasons, Coy's zest for life was infectious, epitomized by his eclectic collection of singing and dancing animatronics. His infectious laughter and exuberance were constant companions throughout life's journey, inspiring all who knew him to embrace its joys with gusto.
Coy leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by his devoted wife, Peggy, his children Lynnette, Dean, Jo, and Tom, his grandchildren Nikki, Brandon, Hannah, Haley, Colby, Anna, Will, Jackson, and Noah, as well as his great-grandchildren Will, Addie, Evangeline, and Jude. Though he has departed this earthly realm, Coy's spirit will forever dance among us, a testament to a life lived with boundless love and unyielding optimism.
