Connie's obituary

Connie Colette Robinson Hall, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday February 10, 2022, at the age of sixty-two after a courageous battle with lung and metastatic brain cancer. Connie was surrounded by love and covered by peace as her loved ones held her hands, hugged her neck, and kissed her brow while whispering sweet affirmations as the angels met her; and the Lord and all of Heaven welcomed her through those glorious pearly gates. With trumpets sounding and choirs singing she received her crown. With drums beating and cymbals splashing Connie heard, “Well Done.” Matthew 25:23 in The New Living Translation instructs that the Master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ Indeed, what a celebration it is.

As the first born to loving parents Bessie P. and the late Lonnie R. Robinson, Connie entered the world on September 30, 1959, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Soon enough, Connie was the oldest sister of three doting rambunctious brothers and a sweet adoring baby sister. As her early childhood years were spent in Chicago, Illinois she was influenced by the Civil Rights Movement and vividly remembered the 1968 Chicago Riots, following the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Naturally that inspired Connie to be the loving protective leader of the bunch, as the family then moved to Georgia.

By eleven, Connie dedicated her life to Christ and began a life of servanthood with a mission to accomplish Christ’s Great Commission. Over the years Connie served by participating in the choir, ushers ministry, youth chorale as director, youth department, mother’s ministry, discipleship class and treasurer.

Connie excelled in everything that she did, making her a respected hardworking leader and was even quite a popular social butterfly. By the time she graduated Murphy High School in 1977, Connie had been crowned “Miss 9th Grade” and served as a member of the National Honor Society, Science Club, Spanish Club, and her favorite role was captain of the cheerleading squad.

Connie attended Morris Brown College, receiving her BA in accounting in 1980 and earned a spot on the Dean’s List. She was a logically thinking naturally skilled “numbers person” who was highly respected and sought after in the business world. She took personal joy in sharing her skills with several non-profit organizations and with the church, knowing that sharing her gift was a blessing and a part of her divine purpose.

Next was motherhood and marriage for Connie. She adored her children, providing a strong Christian foundation at an early age; believed in education, working endless hours of overtime to afford private school; she disciplined with love, promoted traveling and cultural experiences, and gave an endless amount of love. She Would often say that "she didn't raise any stupid children; you can do it!" She raised two strong and independent daughters to reflect the image of Christ and trust the Lord in all times. She taught her children to be tough and to have thick skin and to not be fragile and fall a part in the day of adversity, that all things work together for the good... the importance of Bible study and communing with the Lord.

Certainly, Connie loved family. She was always hosting family events and parties, holidays, and vacations. She loved for everyone to be all together. Connie was the “fun one” who enjoyed laughing, and quite boisterously too. She would do anything for her family and often moved heaven and earth to do so. She had a special way of making each person feel loved, feel seen.

The apple of Connie’s eye and the source of pure joy was her smart, handsome, and funny Grandbaby Steven, her BFF. Steven (POOPY) and Connie (Nanz as he calls her) were partners-in-crime often caught joking, playing with robots and video games, painting, enjoying board games, shopping, discussing topics ranging from fashion to politics, baking, doing yoga, competing in miniature golf, wrestling, talking about God, completing school work, and all of the beautiful things that only she could do.

Connie is survived by two daughters Keenon Hall and Keyunna Hall; grandson Steven Hall; Mother Bessie Pearl Robinson; siblings Minister Lonnie Richard Robinson, Lawrence Keith Robinson, Oscar Wayne Robinson, and Viola Michelle Livingston; nieces LaCrisa (Eboni) Robinson, LeAnna Robinson, Breunna (Cary) White and Naunna Livingston; great nephew Lee White and a host cousins and friends.
