Colleen,Kathy and I attended high school together in the 70’s.I was lucky enough to be friends with both, and to share time with their parents and Tracy at their home in Pointe Claire,Quebec. Colleen and i eventually became roommates in a small studio apartment across the road from an agricultural university. We were young and the great adventure of Life was ahead of us. I will always remember that Colleen told me that if she ever had a son, she would name him Landon, and if a daughter, her name would be Autumn. I’m so glad she got both her wishes. While we were roomies, money was tight, and while we liked to eat, we had other priorities to spend our dollars on- rent, clothes, fun! Colleen and I snuck onto the campus, I think there may have been some climbing over fences, and stole corn on the cob out of the students field- I have often wondered if maybe it was some sort of experimental breeding GMO corn?? We would split the cost of a box of chocolate Brownie mix for 89cents, divide the cake down the middle, and we were happy! A few Facebook messages and posts were really all the communication that we have had in the past 40 some years, yet I feel I can hear Colleen’s voice, see her warm happy smile. My heart is broken for Kathy, their father Mr Zahn, and of course Chet,Landon, Autumn, their partners, children, and the wide circle of friends that mourn. As my tears flow, I am only consoled by the knowledge that Colleen lived a truly loved and loving life. Karen Smith (Bird).

I will always remember the fun we had. Colleen was a great athlete! I was envious of her skills! I’m sure this helped her fight this awful disease for as long as she did. She gave it her all!

Dear friend,
I will miss all our girl nights out, going to plays, concerts, and shows and started with Happy Hour downtown SRQ. You were my first single friend when I moved to LWR (2011) and made my day when we went shopping for furniture at Robb & Stucky. You are one of a kind, the happiness we shared with a ton of laughs. I hope you shake up the heavens like you did on earth. I will forever miss and love you Sis. RIP Colleen

I am saddened to hear that Colleen has passed. My heart goes out to Landon, Autumn, Chet, and her family and friends who loved her.
She was the first person to befriend me when I moved to Tampa many years ago, and we had some wonderful times together. Her laugh could light up a room! Colleen was a truly special woman, and I will treasure my memories of her. Rest In Peace, Colleen.
