Cindra “Cindi” Burks Jones was born January 7, 1955 in Hardtner, KS to Marquita (Martin) and Eddie Burks. She was raised in Freedom, OK by her paternal grandparents Thomas “Pod” and Ruby Welty. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She went on to build her life and raise her family in Ponca City, OK where she resided until her death.
