I first met Chuck in 1967 when we were freshmen at Seward Park High School in NYC. Favorite high school memory... teacher was late to our Physics class. Chuck fell asleep in his chair, head back, mouth wide open. Fellow classmate James Lau and I pretended to shoot some hoops in class by tossing spit-balls into Chuck's mouth. Over the next 56 years, especially the last 36 years that he lived in California, we enjoyed adventures and just sheer joy whenever we were together. I can truly say that no one has ever made me laugh as hard as Chuck did. There were times when we were driving to play Friday night basketball that he brought me to exhaustion from laughing before we even got to the gym.
I will miss my life-long friend and that big smile and warm greeting every time I saw him. Thank you, Chuck, for sharing your life with me. Rest in peace my dear friend.
