I am just learning of Charlotte's passing belatedly. She served as my surrogate mother in 1982, welcoming this college graduate into their Riverside Drive home and shaping a naive suburban man into a bona fide New Yorker. I will always remain grateful. A reluctant farewell to a woman of valor.

My condolences to Charlotte's family. I first met Charlotte when we were members of the psychoanalytic organization, NPAP. We worked together in the child survivors of the Holocaust study, The International Study of Organized Persecution of Children, under Dr. Judith Kestenberg. She was an amazing woman.
