It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles "Charlie" Umfress on December 31, 2023. Born on March 31, 1941, Charles was a man of immense strength, bravery, and loyalty, characteristics that defined him both in professional and personal life.
Charles graduated from Shafter High School, located on Mannel Avenue, Shafter, CA, in 1960. An ardent music lover, he found solace in the tunes of Dolly Parton, George Jones, and Merle Haggard. …
