Caryle did many thoughtful and deliberate actions to make the world a better place such as spearheading Sesame Street Bangladesh, building women’s leadership in Eastern Europe and the Arab world and promoting social justice. In conversations with friends she redirected any questions about her health back to the caller, teasing out what mattered to them and always making them laugh. She was brave, politically savvy, optimistic and extremely funny. She had a lyrical voice and a contagious laugh. So many gifts she left this world, but her greatest was her daughter Natalie. To know Natalie is to know Caryle in Phase II. (Deborah Llewellyn, friends with Caryle for twenty-three years.)

I will miss Caryle so much. She was an excellent instructor for OLLI USF and a delight for me to work with. She was amazingly cheerful despite  her state of suffering. Carlye possessed so many admirable qualities - wisdom, compassion, graciousness, and wit. We lost a great one.

Miss you dearly Caryle!! And sending you so much love Nat.
My condolences to Caryle’s family. I first met Caryle when I lived in Nairobi, Kenya. I became good friends with her daughter, Natalie. We had many sleepovers spending time at each others houses and I specifically remember Caryle’s amazing food and creativity with interior decorating! Our families went on a trip together to Nakuru and I have such great memories from that holiday. She was warm, kind and fun to be around. She was such a great role model and inspiration. My thoughts are with her family during this time. Lots of love from Norway.
I'm so sorry. I was so hoping we would do a meetup this winter with Kathee. I wish you all so much solace and comfort. Caryle so thrived for so long and with so much spirit and enthusiasm. An inspiration for me and I believe so many.

Caryle and I met through the LWV during the pandemic but didn't meet in person until Gasparilla Day 2022, when she invited me for a quiet tea on her front porch, a welcome respite from the noisy streets around us.  She was so welcoming and so wise.  We discovered a lot of mutual experiences and interests, including time in Poland, Greece, and S. Asia.  She bowled me over with her intelligence and her curiosity about everything, not to mention her offers of mangoes and papayas.  I'm sorry we never got to make melomakarona together.
