I’m so sorry for your loss Natalie, unbelievable how this happened, I spoke with her 10 days ago, I’m her housekeeper, I meet her no very long time, but she was very nice and kind person , I will miss her a lot 🙏
Caryle was strong, resilient, and kind. She raised my best friend, and I'm forever thankful to her for that. We'll miss her, but she'll never be far from our thoughts.

This is how I fondly remember Caryle and my good friends the Cammisa sisters, from long ago.

To Natalie and all the Cammisa Family, my deepest condolences at this very difficult time.

I was so very saddened to learn of Caryle’s passing. As a dear friend from high school days, Caryle is forever in my fond memories, along with Kathee, Laurie, Joe and Mr. and Mrs. C. I’m sharing a special scanned old photo taken long ago in my childhood living room of Caryle and Kathee posing together. That is how I lovingly remember Caryle.

When Caryle was a young mom and lived in Maryland, my husband Jim and I visited her and enjoyed meeting her daughter, the very smart and adorable Natalie! I’m also sharing a few of those special photos of Natalie and Caryle during that day.

My heartfelt condolences to Caryle’s family and to all who knew and loved Caryle.

I have only known Caryle a few years, through the League of Women Voters, but always enjoyed spending time with her. She was smart, funny, compassionate and thoughtful. She kept us informed on environmental issues, and participated in many League events, despite her illness. I will miss her.

Caryle came to support an eve…

Caryle came to support an event at the Mosque after a hate crime at a synagogue. We were welcoming all faiths for a service.

Caryle was a wonderful colleague and friend whom I have known for over 17 years. Her humor, intellect, kindness, generosity, insights and worldliness were welcome gifts to all of us who were blessed to know her and work with her over the years. She was one of a kind and a cherished person and friend who will be missed by all of us who appreciated her so much. I adored Caryle. She weathered her illness all these years with utmost grace, dignity, humor and aplomb. She was and will continue to be an inspiration. Rest in peace, dear friend.

I met Caryle and we clicked right away ! She trusted me with the apple of her eye , Natalie her daughter .That’s how I started my first ever baby sitting job .She really was funny , loving  and very fashionable . In the time I worked for her I learned a lot about compassion and kindness! One thing I remember is that she was trying to learn romanian and her favourite word was “cinci” which is number 5 and when she was saying  it she was laughing and telling me she just loves the sound of it !

It is hard to put into words all that Caryle meant to me. She was a true and devoted friend. She was loving, grateful, curious, intelligent, passionate for justice big and small, patient, giving, and above all a wonderful mother. She was with me as I became a mother and taught me so much about raising my little humans. She will forever be in my heart as she lives among the stars.
Natalie - I just found out about mom rising to heaven.  She is an amazing soul and will miss her very much - from the very time we met on 2004/05 in Nairobi and living in Roslyn Ridge she made a such an impact on me as a USAID FSO.  She is a joy and I will always remember her laugh and her grit to always be there for people she cared about.   Christine and she were close and we both are saddened by her passing - just know we will always be there for you, Jay and Christine Singh
Caryle and I met in 1982 at SUNY, Albany. We stayed in touch for all those years. I will miss talking to her about international affairs, U.S. politics, books, movies… It was always an inspiration listening to her point of view. I will miss her great sense of humor and her courage. She really made a difference. My heartfelt condolences to all who loved her. May her memory be a blessing.
Natalie, Kathee... When I think of Caryle I remember the friendship we had when we were young and our time in girl-scouts together ❤️ So sory for your loss, I know the heartache of losing a Mom/Sister 💔 sending Prayers and Love to the entire Cammisa clan 💞
Thank you Caryle for truly making the world a better place. Also thank you for your amazing daughter and legacy. We will all miss you but you will never be forgotten. PS You’re the MVP of dog-grandmas!!
