After meeting Carol (and by extension, Julie) online for our Master Your Move group facilitated by Deborah Dahab, I was just ahead of them moving to Portugal. Happily, I was welcomed as one of Carol's and Julie's first overnight guests at their home in Caldas da Rainha. In addition, they welcomed  my visiting brother and sister-in-law and took all of us sight-seeing in the area last October, I enjoyed holiday excursions with Carol to Obidos and nearby areas last December, a mosaic-making workshop in Tomar, and especially, going with Carol, Julie and big group of friends to Tomar for the Festa do Tabuleiros this past July. We had planned to go together on an excursion to the Xisto villages with a guided tour on October 6, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. Regardless, Carol's spirit was with me the entire day and made it possible for me to unexpectedly meet Billy and Doris who were visiting the same Village at the same time on their own excursion. That was Carol: warm, gracious, inviting, welcoming, supporting and she had a smile that lit up the sky. She will be terribly missed by all of us lucky enough to call her a friend. May her name always be for a blessing.
I was saddened when I heard the over whelming news of Carol's passing. What a kind, compassionate, gentle soul she was. Truly a great loss for all who new her.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family and Julie!

I have so many wonderful memories of Carol. She was my first media specialist friend. My travel buddy for conferences, my co-presenter for innumerable local and state workshops. We worked so well together.  We would laugh until we cried. We were a team. But more than just a work friend, she was my good friend. For more than 30 years. I will miss her so much. Jim and I wish we could be there today, but he is in surgery and I write this from the waiting room. Please know that we are thinking of all of you. You are in our hearts. May your memories of Carol help you through your grief. She will be so missed.
Aunt Carol was beautiful inside and out. No matter how many years in between our visits, we picked up right where we left off. We had a running joke about both of us naming our daughters Lindsay, but it was all in good fun.  I will miss her. Much love and many prayers to all who are mourning her loss. She shined a light into all of our lives that will never be extinguished. 💕
Carol’s kindness and warmth will be missed by many. May her family receive comfort in their loving memories.
What a legacy she leaves behind with her daughters and grandchildren.  I know where they got their sense of humor and joyful spirit!  Carol- you will be HUGELY missed ❤️
In loving memory of our friend, Carol.  We love and miss you!

Carol believed in providing something for everyone at Blake - she was my mentor and "coworker" when I was the media specialist at Stewart. I learned so much from her. Carol always met the kids where they were. She was an inspiration, a mentor, a guide, and a friend to a generation of School Library Media Specialists.
My thoughts and prayers are with Julie and family during this difficult time.  I hope your memories of laughter and adventure lift you as you grieve.

I’m so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing.  I enjoyed babysitting her 3 daughters for many years as she began her career as a media specialist; something that would have been much more difficult to do without the partnership and support of Frank Sivard.  My heart goes out to Carol’s girls; you are her legacy and she loved each of you.  I’m so sorry for your loss.💔
